Twelve Months of Christmas: Month 2

So this month I did a super easy Xmas decoration, a candycane door knob holder. These are a nice way to give your mailman, flyer deliverer or anyone who visits your house a little Xmas cheer. They also are awesome on an office door, classroom door or dorm room door.

Items you will need to make this:
(1) Wooden door knob hanger (Dollar store)
(2) Paint, whatever matches your paper or ribbon (I used 493-Bright Red/FolkArt)
(3) Ribbon (I got mine at an end of season sale for $1.00 at Michael's/Celebrate It)
(4) Piece of decorative paper
(5) Pringles container or tin can
(6) Hot glue
(7) Cricut Expression/Gypsy
(8) Winter Woodland cricut cartridge

How I Did It:
(1) Paint door knob hanger.
(2) Take your pringle container and cut it down to around 4".
(3) Wrap, with hot glue, a 4"x12" piece of your decorative paper around the container. (Center your image).
(4) Take your ribbon and glue it along the outside of your container. When done flip the ribbon over and place inside the container. Add a ribbon along the bottom of the container as well (I used a scalloped red ribbon by Offray.
(5) Make a larger bow with your wider ribbon.
(6) Hot glue container to bottom of door knob hanger.
(7) Glue a piece of the wide ribbon above the container around the door knob hanger.
(8) Glue your bow right above the container. (I had some glueing issues so to hide the mess I made I also glued the ends of the bow to the door knob holder).
(9) Choose a sentiment and glue it above the bow. I used Season's Greetings (Row#4/Column#2) from the Winter Woodland cricut cartridge.
(10 Fill with candy canes or some other treat and hang on your door.

I can't wait to put my door knob hanger out next Christmas. I think I will even make a couple for my craft sales as well, what do you think?
